Music Director: Ian Boath

Since mid 2017, Ian has been our Music Director.
  Ian is a freelance conductor, composer, arranger and music educator and has worked professionally in Europe, UK and throughout Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Conducting.
In 1994 Ian studied Orchestral Conducting in Siena, Italy with Russian Maestro Ilya Musin and also undertook studies in “Writing Music for Film” with Ennio Morricone.
In Adelaide, Ian has conducted for Opera, Operetta, Musicals, Elder Conservatorium Vocal School, Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus, “Solstice” Jazz Vocal Ensemble and “Table for Seven.”
Ian enjoys spending time with his family and in his spare time is writing an opera.

President: Nicole Moxham

Nicole has been a member of the Hills Choral Society since 2008. 
With a wide background in music, she is an enthusiastic member of the Alto section. 
Nicole has performed a number of solos over the years, but particularly enjoys being a part of the rich sound of the full choir.

Secretary: Nerelly Lowe

Our Secretary, Nerelly, has been with us
since 2001.
She has been in  in the Soprano section and has been the Choir’s Secretary for the past 15 years.   She also has performed solos at our Community concerts and loves being part of the ‘Choir Family’.

John Mitchell image

Former President: John Mitchell
(Retired late 2017).

John  was our hard working and energetic
President from 2006, until the end of 2017.
Besides being an efficient and enthusing official,
John has performed many solos over the years,
and is the leader in his singing group in the choir.

Former Music Director: Lesley Lewis
(Retired late June, 2017)

Lesley took the role of conducting the Hills Choral Society in 2005. She has a wealth of experience gained from years of teaching and performing music. Her career encompassed teaching at the SA Dept of Education (DECS) and the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide over some thirty years. Now as a freelance musician, she directs the music at St Michael’s Anglican Church, Mitcham, conducts the itinerant Quire St Nicolas, and maintains her performance on the harpsichord for Adelaide Baroque Inc. She operates the “Little Music Room” at Littlehampton.
Her final concert with the Choral Society was “Great Royal Anthems”, in May 2017.
